MYCELIUM PAVILION
A six-month research project investigating the potential for using biobased materials in structural applications. Up to now, they have been reserved as insulation materials owing to their poor structural performance. I proposed the new and untested approach of glue laminated mycelium panels. This was integrated into a design and alongside structural engineering students, was tested, and confirmed to have the potential to work.

MYCELIUM PAVILION OUTCOME
Structural analysis performed by group member and structural engineering student Bart van den Hurk. Proving that such a structure could be built and hold weight.
