MYCELIUM PAVILION

A six-month research project investigating the potential for using biobased materials in structural applications. Up to now, they have been reserved as insulation materials owing to their poor structural performance.  I proposed the new and untested approach of glue laminated mycelium panels. This was integrated into a design and alongside structural engineering students, was tested, and confirmed to have the potential to work.
